Summary

The crazy hair day was originally organized at my school by two of my classmates. The purpose of this event was to fundraise for the research to treat Leukemia. I decided to join them by providing my help because I knew that not only there would be benefits for me to be gained but also because it would contribute to  a good cause. Basically, my role was to spray the hair of people who wished to donate money. I would either spray it as they wanted or just be creative and spray it with a mix of colors.

What I learnt

In a first place I learnt to know my classmates better as I had to interact with them a lot during this event. Also I learnt how to cooperate and organize things as we divided the labour between those who wanted to contribute. We basically all had a role in this activity that we would sometimes switch so we could experience this from a larger perspective and reflect on a larger scale rather that on what we have done from the beggining to the end (i.e. collecting money, spaying hair...). Finally, it gave me the opportunity to provide my service for a good cause, and in return, I knew that I would benefit by gaining experience in things such as cooperation. It was important for me to participate in this event because I said to myself that there are many people out there who suffer from Leukemia and I had the possibility to fundraise to cure that disease so I didnt even ask myself any questions as I though it would be an act of caring.
